sleevemeplease 1 Posted March 18, 2011 I was sleeved on 3/7 and will be out at least 5 weeks because I can't go back to work without the surgeon releasing me. My claim examiner approved me for 4 weeks right off the bat but I don't see the surgeon until 4/7 so I won't go back until the Monday following. Hope this helps! Is that because you are using employer paid Short Term Disability? I did not elect STD  so I am not sure if I will need the surgeons release. Hmm. I will need to ask!! Thanks! Susanne 32 Posted March 19, 2011 I stayed home 2 weeks but started to work from home after about 1 week to 10 days. I could have gone back after a week I guess, but I can easily do my job from home and I have an awesome boss, so it wasn't a problem.
SKCUNNINGHAM 298 Posted March 19, 2011 I was out about 2/12 weeks, then went back to work half time for one week. I have to drive 2 hours each way to and from work on top of working an eight hour day - so that was the reason for the half time for a week. I am going back full time next week. My only issue is my energy level isn't what it was before - but it is better each day.

I have been there, done that and do not envy you I am hoping to head back to work after one week (if hubby will drop / pick up) so I can still take my pain meds but make that $$$ honey!!
