Taosf 0 Posted March 18, 2011 I was sleeved on Mar. 2, 2011, by Dr. Zorn in San Diego, CA. It went fairly well. I needed very little pain medication. At the time of the surgery I weighed 238.6 lbs. Now I'm at 223.5 lbs. and I've hit a plateau. I've stayed there since day 12 (today is day 16). That is when I started soft/pureed foods (cottage cheese, yogurt...). I've been under 500 calories each day which includes my Protein Drink. I am up to walking 2 miles a day and have my mile down to 33 min. My goal is to walk the mile in 30 min. I walk 1 mile 2 times everyday. I'm getting a little worried. I don't want to continue to go through this plateau forever!! Help!!!!!!!!!

I hear lots of folks slow down on weight loss when they first add in foods again. I did not plateau then, but at week 6 through 12 I gained 5 pounds and stuck there for 6 weeks! I was going nuts! I continued on my diet and added cardio and stayed there at 191. During that time I did loose 2 inches in my waist, so the body is moving at that time, just not on the scale! Suddenly the stall broke and I got down to 179 in no time and here I have been for another week. My nut told me that this is just typical and weight loss is more in vertical steps than a downward spiral. Things to help the body keep loosing is to up the calories a bit, drink more fluids and make sure you are getting your Essential fatty acids. ( add a little olive oil to your diet during the day)
