5 weeks out stomach pains

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, so today I woke up with the worse stomach ache. I have no fever. Just a stomach ache. It feels like really bad cramps. I think I have the mirena iud so I haven't had cramps in years. Anyone else experience this? I'm starting to get worried maybe i've done damage to my new tummy. Earlier I laid in a bath and that helped while I was in there but not now that i'm out...

It's the next day the pain is gone but I feel so nauseous. I think I might go to the er soon. See if they'll do a leak test. Anybody experience these things at 5 weeks out.

Hi Vicky, How are you doing? I hope you are feeling much better now. I am almost 3 weeks out and i have not have had any stomach pain just some discomfort when i eat and the doctor said its normal because its the new tummy getting used to food. I am also going to be going the my obgyn to get the mirena so we shall see how that goes. take care, patty

Perhaps developing some lactose intolerance? I guess we can get tummy bugs just like before surgery... glad your feeling better.

I don't think it's lactose intolerance. I've been drinking milk every now and then for heartburn and feel ok afterwards. Maybe just a tummy ache. Thanks. I'll keep you up to date.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
