Hey everyone,

I think I am going thru a funk. I am 11 weeks out as of today. I am very excited with my weight loss. I am down 60 pounds as of this morning. I am just having a hard time with the social part of not really eating. I have found that I am never asked to go out to lunch anymore and we never go out to dinner. I really miss the this! Will this change as time goes on? I am really tired of eating my Soup at my desk by myself everyday :o(

Be proactive, if people don't ask you out to lunch, then ask them! Maybe they don't know if it would be nice or just tempting to ask you out...

I don't find that the sleeve prevents me from attending social functions, including those that revolve around food. In fact, I went out for lunch with friends 4 days after my surgery - the day after I flew back home! We just went to a Vietnamese restaurant and one of my friends ordered pho (soup) and we requested a second bowl for me. She just poured some of her broth for me, and that's it! And you are almost 3 months out, so you should be able to eat basically anything at this point. Surely there are SOME restaurants you could go to where healthier options are available. I wouldn't go to a burger place, but practically every restaurant has a selection of salads or some sort of "healthy" Entrees. Even Denny's has some "fit" platter among their Breakfast options. Just carry tupperware with you for leftovers and you're set!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
