tracidee66 0 Posted March 16, 2011 Hey folks, This is kinda of a weird question. Last night I had a couple of teaspoons of shredded beets in balsamic vinegar. I'm not a fan of beets in the least, but these were very tasty. I haven't had them in over 20 years and then it was just a bite. Anyway, a few hours later I was itching like a manic! The roof of my mouth, my arms, my legs even my scalp. I took some allergy meds and I felt better. So, the question is: Since food allergies come on fairly quickly, could the surgery have caused a delayed reaction, or am I smoking crack and this is something else entirely? KinkySlinky 3 Posted March 16, 2011 food allergies can appear anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours after ingestion... If it were me, and I didn't try anything else new, I would assume it was the food.
