I'm up for a new challenge on the 17th. What date are we going to shoot for this time? Memorial Day or 4th of July? Julie

Well mine was up 3lbs today! I have been staying withing my calories but last night for dinner I had a mashed potato bowl from KFC It took me two hours to eat it but it was worth it. It only has 720cal which put me at 1,100 for the day (I don't remember the littel numbers off the top of my head) but it had an astronomical sodium content. I knew ahead of time that I was gonna reatin Water. Let's put it this way, I have needed the bathroom yet today :omg: and yes I'm drinking down as much water as possible, lol, so it will leave me. And there is no way I'm updating anything! cause I know it's not for real. High sodium + AF = major water retention!!!

Molly those KFC bowls were one of my favorite things in the world preband. Now I actually make them at home myself so I can make it smaller and a bit healthier. I buy some frozen popcorn chicken, low fat cheese, mashed potatoes and some chicken gravy. I am not a big fan of the corn but I am telling you it is sooooo good. Even my my hubby likes it and he is super picky. In fact it is one of his favorite meals that I make.

I think we had decided on the Independence day challenge and July 4th. To free ourselves from the shackles of weight, to move on to a new way of life, to boldly go where no man...er...woman...er...wait, I think I've crossed over to a Star Trek moment. That would make 11 weeks (and a day) until the next end date if we start on the 17th.

So this morning I got off the highway for gas halfway to work and noticed a car identical to mine pulling into the mcdonalds for Breakfast and I had a twing of sadness over not being able to do the same thing. How crazy is that? Like once a month if I had time I'd stop and get a sausage mcmuffin for breakfast. I miss that but I don't miss the big butt that goes with it. hahahaha. I wish I didn't feel sadness over it though. Do you guys ever have that?

I'm still in mourning for my favorite foods. I guess it'll take a while to get over it.

My husband bought chocolate frosted entenmann's doughnuts for the kids last night. I almost started to cry. Then I read the nutrition label and got over it pretty quickly. LOL!! You can still pull into the McDonalds...just get a fruit and yogurt parfait instead!

I am dealing with a lot of sadness and anger with food. When I am full and can't finish what I wanted to eat I get seriously pissed off. I feel so mad and angry and I can't even explain why. It is almost every other day, it just seems like I want to sabotage myself and then I get even more frustrated that I can't do it.

I hate when I fix my little tiny plate of food and it's something that I slaved over cooking and it's super delicious and for whatever reason I get too full too quick and can only eat a few bites of it :angry I hate when that happens! It is a sad day when I can't eat a saucer of food! Yay for yummy protien shakes, but it still isn't the same :)

You're too funny! An 11 week challenge seems daunting but...this time around I plan to set my sights on a more reasonable goal so it will give me plenty of time to ACTUALLY STINKING HIT MY GOAL THIS TIME!!! :faint:

So, I'm in and I will hit this next challenge. I will set a goal to at least get into Onderland...something I was hoping for this current challenge but alas...at almost one year out...I see things are S L O W I N G D O W N and it's time for me to start accepting that!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
