You're awesome, you go get it girl! I would be so happy for you! You can do it!

I'm chicken...I'm sticking with 250. But, 235 would be incredible.

Anyone else want to join in with their Christmas goal? We can start a list and track it each month? Let's "weigh in" each 25th. Since August 25th has passed we'll just use our current weight. If you want to join just copy the list and add your info in. (Julie, I'm using your signature weight, you can change it if it's not current.)

Well guys my weight loss has pretty much come to a crashing hault. I know that u are not supposed to be worried about weight loss until after your first fill but it felt sooo good to just watch the lbs come off. Oh well I guess I just have to hang in there . I hope you all are doing well!

I'm in a plateau too. It totally stinks...I feel ya. I agree with everyone else, once you get your first fill then you'll see a difference. Try to hang in there!

There are times in life when 300 is a very good number

$300

300 pairs of shoes

300 friends

300 days of vacation every year (paid)

hehe, just thought I'd share a bit of my goofy mood with ya'll :huggie:

BTW the fill seems to be great! Now that the swelling is down, I can eat normal solid food but only in very small amounts and very slowly chewed to goo ;)

LapBandit, has your plateau broken? I'm on a mini plateau -- hoping it's not a full blown one. We'll see. It's my PSM week, so that usually contributes to it for me. I usually lose great one week then nothing the next, rinse and repeat. I need to stay busier the weeks that I'm not losing on the scale because those are the weeks I'm more tempted. Seeing loss motivates me.

Speaking of, I'd like your suggestions on the following. My very nice office manager keeps a big tub of mini chocolates in her office for the whole office to eat. I've gotten in a crap habit of stopping by a few times a week (usually 3) and grabbing a handful. Now, I track everything I eat very carefully and I stay within my caloric goals even if I add 150-200 cals of chocolate, but it's a nasty habit and I'd like to break it. The thing is, I'm often in the office by myself around 7 pm and that's my danger zone (4 pm is bad too, but there are other options at 4 pm, like leaving the office to get a coffee, etc.). I can't ask her to move it -- the rest of the firm really enjoys it, and as much as I like to think the world revolves around me, it doesn't. My plan is to treat myself to something more controlled. Maybe a FF chocolate pudding cup (more Protein, a controlled 60 cals) -- but I don't REALLY like them. Maybe a FF hot chocolate (again, more protein, a controlled 50 cals) -- that might work sometimes. Maybe I need to make it a rule to get a snack at 4 every day so I'm not looking to graze at 7 pm (I don't usually get home for dinner until 8:30 or 9). Any other ideas?

No, I don't think I've busted loose from my mini-plateau yet. I just got TOM (two weeks early) so I think hormones may have something to do with it...we'll find out soon!

I know, I know, I KNOW about office junk food. There is a whole stinkin' table sitting in the middle of my office that at this moment has two packages of Cookies, wheat thins and some 2 day old donuts on it! You're right...we really can't do much about it either.

But, I enjoy South Beach bars--140 cal, 10 Protein and they are DELICIOUS. That's what I look forward to as my "snack break". They actually keep me satisfied for a few hours to boot! My doctor said they are pretty well balanced so they are a safe option for me.

Have you ever tried them? They are really good tasting, you feel like you're splurging without the guilt!

Yes I think I may very well be at my sweet spot!!!

I eat a cupful of food and am full. 1/2 to 3/4 cup and satisfied. I can eat all of the things I am supposed to be able to but none of the nono's like bread. I can have two bites of it but then I can't put anything in for a long time (10-30min) afterwards or it will be bad. I have begun feeding the poor and hungry at school all my leftovers when ever I eat out for lunch. I am becoming very popular :D . I can now sit in the chairs at school with arms on them and be comfortable. When I started I was in a size 34-36 and now my 30's are way to big. Need some 28's and 26's to get me through the next little while. And a old family friend who has lost a lot of weight just gave me all her 3x's which will fit beautifully now :D and her 2x's too!

Now to just leave the junk food alone. hehe.

Two ideas to replace the chocolate. Try sugar free diabetic chocolates and if you like them keep them on hand. Also I really like the Atkins advantage chocolate treats. One kind tastes exactly like kitkats. Not sure on the nutritional stats on those but at least they are sugar free :D

I used to keep a basket of peanut m&m's in my middle school office for the teachers and kids...I think it was an excuse to be able to have them there for me, too. The district has a new health and wellness policy and we can't have that anymore. That's a good thing, though, because now I won't have them there. I got everyone granola bars with a welcome back sticker on them for a treat today.

I am now comfortably in my 3X's, too. I didn't realiz that half my closet were 3X's. I thought they were 2's. So I'm set for a while. Then I have 2's stashed in bins waiting for another 40 lbs or so to go. It's a testament to how often I've gone up and down, but now it's coming in handy so I don't have to go and buy many things.

I get my chocolate fix by having slim fast shakes - chocolate royale - in my Magic Bullet with ice, like a malt. Yum!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
