msbug 0 Posted June 24, 2006 Any recomendations for a good blender? I tried to make a smoothie this morning and my blender didn't even crush the ice. So I'm thinking I need to get a new one before I have to live for weeks on pureed and blended foods. What's the best one out there that doesn't cost a ton of money? I'm also looking for one of those small food processors that I can keep out on the counter to mush and mix food if anyone has a good one to suggest! Thanks

Thanks I picked up a *Magic Bullet* on eBay for less than 40.00 brand new with shipping. This is the greatest invention - this blends, juices, and mushes all in one machine :fish: eBay: NIB 21 piece Magic Bullet Blender Juicer As Seen on TV (item 4461028929 end time May-16-06 12:27:53 PDT)
the best me 6 Posted June 24, 2006 I have a Magic Bullet and it's GREAT for pureed foods. Very easy, easy to clean, easy to use. But it's not so great for crushed ice drinks. It shut down -overheated?- in the middle of Pina Colada night last week. so I borrowed my neighbors plain ole blender for that. I plan to get a smoothie maker machine for iced drinks. I hope it crushes ice better than the MB. Good luck! OH! I heard that Target has a $10-15 personal blender that's pretty handy. This was last summer, so maybe they will be back? Check there, too. 3loves 0 Posted June 24, 2006 I got the Magic Bullet for my birthday and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I use it at LEAST once a day and sometimes more. I even took it with me when I visited my dad for Father's Day. I purchased it at Wal-Mart.
piercedqt78 658 Posted June 24, 2006 I have a small micro blender I bought at wal-mart for around $13. This year it comes in fun colors and they also have a smoothie maker in the line, around $19 I think. My blender is the kind that you can drink out of the container, it came with a lid with a sipper spout and also a lid that covers completly so you can pop it in the fridge. It is by Home Essensials? I think. ~Mandy
juliegeraci 7 Posted June 24, 2006 I LOVE the bullet. You can buy it on line or infomercials. It is great for single serving and comes with a bigger blender. Perfect for lapband patients who want a small portion blended. Highly recommend it.
Flutterby2b 0 Posted June 25, 2006 I bought my Magic Bullet at our JC Penney's outlet for $20.00. It works great for all smoothies. My kids love it and make smoothies daily. It also makes great mushie food. The chicken/tuna salad recipes are actually mush, but good. I also have a Oster blender, mixer, breader maker, meat grinder etc... that's 20 yrs old and going strong. But I recommend the Magic Bullet.
SherryW 4 Posted June 25, 2006 I saw the Magic Bullet at BJs Wholesale Club today. I think the whole kit was pretty cheap. You might want to check that out. I have a personal blender by Oster that actually makes the drinks in a travel mug. Great for making your Protein Shakes w/ice. It crushes them fine. It comes with a travel cover too. I got mine at Lowes for about $20. I also have a stick blender that helps puree Soups and stuff right in the pot. I think that is a Hamilton and it was about $12 at Walmart. That too will crush ice in a cup.
johnna 0 Posted June 27, 2006 magic bullet from Walgreens. Don't go there and buy it though. I paid $60.00 for mine. Looks like others have found it much cheaper at other places.
Time2live 0 Posted June 27, 2006 We absolutely love the bullet. My kids make their own smoothies right in the mugs that came with it....yogurt, fruit, a little ice, a dribble of milk and a little honey...we all love em. I love that it's little and the container has a lid to put it in the fridge if you don't use it all. It really is one of the few appliances that I use everyday. the best me 6 Posted June 27, 2006 Wow, you all are doing great at making smoothies with your MBs! AM I using the wrong kind of ice or something? Those Pina Coladas didn't work so hot. Okay, so we did have the blender attachment pretty full...that's what's wrong. Bulk Mixed Drinks...they'll getcha everytime!! LOL
Time2live 0 Posted June 27, 2006 Whenever I use the blender attachment I put all the liquid in first and then the ice and we have an ice dispenser so I can put in crushed which makes it easier.
