Just stop... Think about what you went through to get to where you were. They surgery, the protien shakes, all the hard work. Don't make it all for nothing. YOU CAN DO IT. I am only 3 months out and i've lost 51 pounds and feel like I am just maintaining on the little I eat. I feel like I am letting myself down, what in the world am I going to do when they tell me to increase my calories. It is so hard to stay away from things I like, even thought I am not hungry. Just stop. YOU CAN DO IT

Protein first!! Are you following the plan? If you're not following the plain, you are going to gain weight! Make sure you eat correctly... Protein first, veggies second, and if you have room, starch. If you're eating a lot more carbs than usual, you are going to crave more carbs. Stop and think. Start making a food journal and see what your paterns are and then make the correct changes!! You didnt do this for nothing, and you surely didnt do this to simply give up and gain the weight back!! Pick yourself up and get back on track!! You can do it!!!

I'm just 4 months out but the way I see it you've only gained 15 pounds so you still lost so much weight so stop beating yourself up. You probably just need to get back on track and just a thought maybe talk with a counselor. Sometimes we need help getting and staying in a new phase of our lifes, even if its positive, its something I am planning to do also. Good luck!

Focus on three things Protein, exercise, Water if you get those three in you should be good. I'd also say if you're having a problem with eating all day go back to 3 meals or maybe 6 small meals but it's important to keep them small if you're going to go that route.

Go on only Protein Shakes for as long as you can to clear your system out. You need to get the cravings out of your system. Then start journaling all your food intake. lastly THROW OUT ANY JUNK YOU HAVE IN YOUR HOUSE! Food additiction is so tough. You deserve to look and feel good. Don't sacrifice what you want at the moment for your long term goals!!~!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Are you physically hungry or is it head hunger? Emotional/bored/ frustrated? Has something changed in your life? Just falling back into old habits?

You have obviosly learned how to eat healthy, you lost 85 pounds! that is so cool. The challenge is getting the behavior truly ingrained. Many people use outside support like a counselor or OA to help find things to replace food, whether it be an emotional void or habit void. I haven't had surgery yet, but plan to see a psychologist every 3 months post-op, just to check in and make sure I'm still on track mentally.

You can stop, but it has to be a choice you make. Either you stop eating or you continue to gain weight. The sleeve only works as long as you do.

If you have started just eating whatever, whenever, go back to basics. Protein only from food sources, cut carbs, and start tracking your intake. If you have access to a local support group, start attending the meetings. If you can, find a counselor/therapist that works with bariatric patients to help you. Meeting with a nutritionist isn't a horrible idea either.

You've lost weight, that really isn't the tough part of this journey. Maintenance is where the real work kicks in. Unfortunately, the sleeve only does so much, the rest falls on us.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
