Hang in there Caliblonde, sending positive thoughts your way. I start my liquid diet tomorrow. You have already lost 32 lbs pre op? That is awesome! Thanks Lynda for the clarification. I am going to have to whip me up a batch of that broth.< /p>

Thanks Holly! Good luck with your liquid diet, don't forget to get in your fluids in addition to your "meals". That's been a struggle for me and I think I'm slightly dehydrated because I keep forgetting to drink.

I got my sleeve yesterday with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. Everything has gone well and it isn't neatly as painful as I thought it would be. I got my iv out today. Drain will come out tomorrow and I'll be flying home on Friday.

Alright guys, I'm heading in tomorrow to do mine. I'm starting out at a rather hefty 60+ BMI, so I've got a long way to go.

Hey May vsgers! Had my surgery yesterday and just got back from the hospital. Everything went well. I'm just fighting nausea occasionaly and am having to force myself to get the Isopure down. Overall I think that I am doing well. Hope all is alright with those of you who had surgeries in the last few days.

Holly

I'm home from my may 17 surgery. So far so good! I've posted a couple of topics about my recovery in the "Tell Your Story" section.

Healing thoughts to fellow May sleevers who are already on the losers bench and best wishes for speedy recoveries to those who have not yet had their surgeries!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
