How do you feel 4 weeks out?

Recommended Posts

My surgery is Monday. YIKES! I was just wondering how most people felt 4 weeks out. That is my birthday. Are you still on liquids or puree? Just curious how people felt after one month! :)

Hello! I am about 1 month out. I feel great, I am still not comfortable with semi-solid food (mashed fish for example), but it's getting better day by day. I also still have problems drinking enough Water (I hate non sparkling water), but again it's getting better, I am having Jello, broth, Vitamins with water,..

I felt absolutely PERFECT after 4 weeks. So good that I took the kids sledding and I went down the hill a few times. Haven't done THAT since I was a kid!!!

I'm a little over 1 month out and I feel better than normal. I've lost 1-2 size of clothing. I have a lot more energy. I still love to cook, I just put my portion in the magic bullet and blend to make it easier to digest. However I've been out several times and have ordered normal meals I just eat so very little at this point. Find a Protein Shake you love cause you have to have it 1-2 times a day. Best money I ever spent.

Four weeks out as of Friday. Eating pretty normal foods now. Just heated up 4 stuffed mushrooms but I can only eat two. I very rarely get hungry these days but I try to ensure I get at least 2 shakes in to supplement. I also joined the gym and have been doing group classes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
