Mystee 2 Posted March 11, 2011 OK, strange question but have you lost about 100 lbs and your skin has shrunk down has anyone that previously had spider veins in their legs noticed any kind of difference after their weight loss? Was there a change for the better or worse or none at all?
BlackBerryJuice 349 Posted March 11, 2011 I've lost closer to 70. I have some spider veins on the outside of my right thigh. I haven't noticed any difference whatsoever. From my limited knowledge of what they are, I don't really see why weightloss would make them less or more prominent - although I'd say that being at a normal weight makes you less likely to develop MORE spider veins. They haven't gone away, but no new ones have appeared, either. Try sclerotherapy if they really bother you - spider veins run in my family and my mom's are pretty bad. She had sclero done and is quite pleased.
clk 3,519 Posted March 11, 2011 I'm also right around 70 pounds lost, so maybe I'm no help. But I have two on the outside of my thigh, and I haven't really noticed any difference in them. They're not more prominent or less prominent. I do notice that after a long, hard workout or a day spent traipsing around in high heels they'll ache/burn more than I'm used to feeling, but I used to sit on my rear ALL DAY LONG, so I can't attribute it to the weight loss. ~Cheri
Infernored 5 Posted March 11, 2011 My aunt had her spider veins treated with saline injections after she lost a bunch of weight and some of them are gone and more difficult to see
