This question is for sleevers that was 230 to 240 pre-sleeve

I was 224.5lbs when I had my surgery, no pre-op diet. At 2 months out I was down 32 pounds, and now I am almost 3.5 months out and down 43.5 lbs, which is over 50% of the way to my goal! Good Luck!

I was 231 lbs. on the day I booked surgery (about 5 weeks prior to my surgery date -- actually I was almost certainly 233 lbs., due to the scale not being really accurate, which I didn't find out about until about a month after surgery when I bought a new scale). I lost 6.5 lbs. on the preop diet and was 224.5 on last day before surgery (again actually I was more like 226.5 due to the scale). I just hit 8 weeks out last week and was down to 197.4 lbs. (on my new scale), a loss of 29 lbs. from surgery and 35 lbs from my pre-op high weight.

I try not to compare myself to people but it's natural, and I am amazed by how fast some people are losing. There are so many variables -- how tall are you, how muscular are you, how old are you, how active are you, etc. I calculated my base metabolism rate (BMR) and based on me eating 800 calories a day I found I should be losing about 2 lbs. a week (I am a very petite 5'1" 43 year old female). That has been happening routinely (until this week, when I had way too many carbs, and only lost a pound. I really have to watch my carb intake!). So anyhow, if you want to know what is a "normal" weight loss for you, google BMR calculators and find out what your BMR is, then calculate how many calories you eat each day and calculate from there how many lbs. you can expect to lose in a week. If you lose more than you should, Celebrate. If you lose less than you should, examine what you're eating and if you are at the level of activity you identified when calculating your BMR. If you are losing about what you should lose, you know you are totally on track. biggrin.gif

This is a great post! :) Thanks for starting it. Tomorrow is my surgery and last week I was 239, but I think with the pre-op I have lost 10 lbs. I will know for sure tomorrow. I love that at 8 weeks out, I will probably be in Onederland, according to many of the people from this post! :) Cool!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
