Hello Everyone,

I will have the lap band procedure done in Monterrey Mexico. Has anyone heard anything about Dr. Sanchez? Does anyone know where I can get fills in Texas? I heard it's hard finding a doctor to do the fills in the US when u have the surgery done in Mexico. I am scheduled to have it done July 3rd.:nervous

I had Dr. Sanchez, you will be extremely pleased with the care you recieve. He is a wonderful surgeon and I had complete confidence in him. What part of Texas are you in? I am on the south tip and usually just drive 40 minutes across the border and meet him at a hospital he operates out of there. He did refer me to a fill doc, whom I saw for my first fill. I just prefer to meet him and Dr. Susanah and get fills from them!

I live in San ANtonio. You go back to Monterrey to get the fills? Where do u stay? I am sooo nervous about this procedure and more afraid of the fills once I have it done. How soon did u need a fill after the surgery?

Hey there! Just saw this post! Dr. Sanchez hooked me up with a doctor that does my fills. The fills are honestly painless and take all of 2 minutes or less. What part of Texas are you in? I have P.Md you but I know that there are several people on here banded by Dr. Sanchez...maybe someone else already knows of an aftercare doc in your area.

p.s. I have never heard anything but good things about Dr. Sanchez here or on any other board. He has an impeccable reputation as far as I know. Do a search on him.....you will hear happy bandsters reporing!

I was banded by Dr. Sanchez on 5/25/06. Wonderful experience. His entire staff was wonderful and went out of their way to help you. No regrets at all. His website has a support group that has a file for fill dr's in the US. Best wishes.

Sharon

Look on the Texas thread. I think you will find some fill doctors. I also think there is a fill usa in San Antoinio. It might be another large operation, but I know I've read something about it.

Hi there! Welcome to LBT!! I am being banded by Dr. Sanchez on the 10th of July. I have complete confidence in him, and have dealt with his staff a lot in the last month and a half. I have been researching the band over a year and a half and really trust my decision. Good luck on getting banded, and have fun in Mexico!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
