I drink the Myoplex carb control ones (very low in carbs (I wanna say 3g) and 17g of protein). The dark chocolate ones are the best but the choc fudge ones are ok too. Make sure to drink them on ice!

Everyone's experience with Protein is different. I would suggest you get sample packs from different retailers (I know there is a list of places to order on this site). Try out the sample packs and make your own decision. I have heard people say they hate this one and like others and then someone else liking the ones others hate and so on. It just boils down to your own personal taste. Sample packs should help you find the right one for you.

I like powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury the best...Chocolate Splendor, vanilla, and the best...Chicken Soup. The shakes have 20g Protein and the Soup has 21g Protein. You can get a sample package of all their flavors. Also, check out the link below for great recipes for Protein Shakes at- The World According To EggFace. The take away the nasty after taste that Protein drinks can have.

I drinik GNC wheybolic isolate extreme 60..It is awesome and in 3 drinks you get 60 grams of Proteins. The best flavor is choclate and if you drink it with milk It tastes like choclate milk.. I have had many Protein shakes and it is the best. If you try it get the choclate it is the best. Its awesome.

I just got one today that I think is very good. Its tropical mango flavored.

4EVER® Fit fruit Blast™ the Isolate - Tropical Mango

It is very fruity, you mix it with Water, and it is NOT creamy. I have been trying several with an eye towards the summer

and something that tastes more fresh. I like this for Breakfast too. I had tried a sample first, and went out and bought it today. They also make strawberry kiwi.

  • Whey Protein Isolate
  • Great Tasting
  • Mixes Instantly
  • 25g of Protein per Serving
  • Refreshing Fruit Flavor
  • Aspartame Free
  • Non GMO
  • Zero Fat and Only 1 carb
  • 33 servings per container

Right now I am still on liquids so I am taking 3 shakes a day which puts me over the 60g of Protein. Depends on the shake but most that I have tried from the sample packs are 23g of Protein each. When I am on regular food I am going to try to get most of my protein from food if I can. If not I have found some shakes that I like (Syntrax nectar and Unjury). Hope this helps.

I'm loving unjury... choco, vanilla, chicken Soup, and strawberry sorbet.

Not a fan of the unflavored.

Atkins Advantage is pretty good too.

I really like the unjury I got unflavored. chicken Soup chocolate splendor and the sample kit which had a strawberry sorbet they were all great. I got sick of the super sweet Isopure they had in the hosp, I made Jello with the unflavored. Have been meeting or exceeding Protein goals since like po day 4.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
