Someone mentioned Generic Drugs

Recommended Posts

Not too long ago someone mentioned that saving money on generic drugs isn't always beneficial. Sorry, I really do not recall who it was, might have been Tiffy! Anyway, I have been taking the generic for Prilosec since I about 4 weeks after surgery to save money. My hubby has been unemployed for 2 years now! Off track.... The other day, I said screw this, the acid is probably what is causing all this hunger and killing me in my efforts to lose this last 19 pounds! I have been picking at everything that is not nailed down! So, I got the Prilosec and took 1 last night, about 15 minutes later, that is all it took, the gurgling stopped!!! I was so happy! My husband even said he couldn't hear it anymore from the other side of the room that whatever i just took must have helped! I will never cheap out on the generic again for this!

I will start looking for coupons now!!!

YAY YAY Patti ! ! ! Make sure to take it on an empty stomach too. Wait an hour before eating really helps it last all day.

Coupons.com has coupons occasionally, and since I'm pretty coupon crazy, I actually order coupons from a clipping service in Florida. You can pick and choose which ones you want. Also, Prilosec typically goes on sale every 60-90 days in big retailers such as Walmart and Target, try to keep your eye out on prices and notice when it goes on sale. It'll go down 2-3 bucks and then back up. I've seen coupons for up to $5-$8 bucks off depending on the tablet count.

If I run across any, I'll message you ! ! !

Yep, my experience was with a generic version of Miralax, just did NOT work. Sometimes they work sometime they don't.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
