Sara Ann 0 Posted March 6, 2011 My surgeon wants me to lose 16-20 lbs by 3/21, and I will be starting my full liquid diet tomorrow. Will I be able to get it off in time? I have a weigh in on Thursday 3/10, one on 3/16 and my final weigh in with the surgeon on 3/18 I'm just scared I won't be able to lose enough in time
snowfie9 6 Posted March 6, 2011 Depends on how much you have to lose. The heavier you are, the more comes off at the beginning of any weight loss regimine. but you figure at least 10lbs of that is going to be Water weight and it's doable, but difficult. Good luck. GreenEyedMamma 5 Posted March 7, 2011 I had to lose the same in a two week period. It is really doable as long as you stick to your liquids. Keep it very low in carbs and remember to drink your Water too. If you choose broth, choose a very low sodium broth so your body doesn't hold onto the salt and make you retain Water. I chewed A LOT of gum to help with cravings. It is hard but the payoff is well worth it. I am only a little over a week post-op and I don't regret anything. Use this time as a good learning tool for recovery as well as a stepping stone for a new relationship with food. Good luck with everything. You'll do great.
