Me too. I hadn't been at all nervous until last night. Then I began to have the usual second thoughts. I finally did get to sleep though. But I remember the night before I had my hysterectomy 5 years ago. I laid awake all night before the surgery thinking what if...this and what if....that. I am kind of afraid I won't sleep at all tonight. This seems like such a big irreversable thing to do...and by choice! At least the hysterectomy wasn't something that I chose to do! I know I should be being all positive right now, and I have been all along until yesterday. Well off to buy last minute items. Good luck to all sleevers having surgery tomorrow!

Looks like there are a lot of us taking the journey tomorrow! I go back and forth from being really anxious, to completely calm. I'm ready though. I am ridiculously prepared - tons of Isopure, 4 different kind of boxed broth, popsicles, gas-x, special mouthwash, you name it! My prep has helped me get calm about the surgery.

Here's to a smooth experience for all of us!

Good luck to all of you! Please keep us posted. I'm so excited to hear your updates. I still have 4 months of hoops to jump through but I know I'll be where you are soon. Well, except I doubt I'll clean the house. Lol. Jk! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
