Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

What are you most looking forward too after surgery?

Recommended Posts

Here are a few of the things that I am most looking forward to:

  1. Wearing jeans with my shirt tucked in!
  2. I want to buy a fancy belt to wear with the jeans with the tucked in shirt. (I AM from Texas...a fancy belt is practically required)
  3. I am looking forward to painting my own toe nails!
  4. Shopping in the regular size clothes departments and stores!

Anyone else have fond hopes other watching the numbers on the scale drop of course?

Clothes and confidence!

I dont have any vavoom anymore and I am hoping being able to wear nice, trendy clothes will give me back some of it.

Also to say yes to more social invitatiions because i often say no, worried about how fat I look and how people will be looking at me.

Looking forward to:

1) Wearing a dress (Last time I wore one I was 12!)

2) Crossing my legs, dang it!

3) Going into ANY store and being able to buy clothes

4) And most importantly: HAVING A BABY

I can now officially shop in the regular size sections. I am fitting in a 16/18. My goal is getting to understand how these smaller sizes work! I have been in plus size clothes since 9th grade so I have no clue how these junior/misses missy things work.

I want to go scuba diving instead of just snorkeling.

I want to go on a cruise and not be embarrased to to sit on the pool deck in my swim suit and go para-sailing and not worry about how fat my butt and legs look to the people on the ground, I want to do cave tubing in the Puerto Rico rain forrest and not worry how I look in an inter tube or that they will take my picture while doing it.

I will stop avoiding every camera in sight and actually smile and pose for them.

I have not been on a plane in a year and I look forward to seeing the belt fit with room left and the tray table to be able to come down!

No longer fear turn stalls.

In 14 more pounds I can go see my Primary care doctor for the fist time since this operation and I will be 100 lbs lighter than the last time I seen him!

I look forward to playing at the slash park with my grand babies and not worrying about how I look and not running out of energy!

The list goes on..............................................

I love this! Wow I have so many! Let's see -

getting off the meds for high blood pressure

not being ashamed of the way I look

being more social - have a lot of friends but am embarrassed of how I look so make excuses to not go

shop in a regular store

not having a X or W in my clothing sizes

crossing my legs!

like the wearing a belt some others have posted - didn't think of that one myself but I'm using it

wearing a dress - agree with the other who said they haven't worn one for quite sometime - me too!

I am looking forward to fitting in things: Theater seats, airplane seats, normal sized clothes, halloween costumes.

It's hell being a plus sized person in a normal sized world. (doubly so being a plus sized person in the thinnest state of the union)

I'm also looking forward to being able to DO more (withought the huffing and puffing): gardening, hiking, walking up hill, maybe even RUNNING! Wouldn't that be something?

(and sure, really great sex with my beloved husband, but pass on the baby)

1. Dying at a ripe old age of anything not related to being overweight!!

2. Fitting in the curve my husband makes when he is sleeping.

3. NOT feeling that gnawing hunger throughout the day.

4. Off blood pressure and cholesterol meds.

5. Tying my shoes without going "oof."

6. Taking an exercise class instead of working out with a personal trainer.

7. More energy throughout the day.

8. Wearing the clothes in the back of my closet and then finding they are too big.

9. Going on the Big Dipper at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and NOT fearing I won't fit.

10. Getting new glasses that go with a skinny face.

I have so many, but I'll narrow it down to:

Not breaking out into a sweat everytime I walk outside in the summer

To not be breathing heavy after even a little exertion

To sit in the floor and then be able to get back up

I'd also really like to try rock wall climbing, just looks so fun!

Not having an x on my clothes size, unless it's extra small

Being in family pictures again

Skiing, and fitting into the boots well!

Riding my bike again

Not having food or my weight be on my mind all day!

Shopping in a regular store like banana Republic, and not Lane Bryant

Skinny jeans, dresses, belts, skirts, boots

Being healthy

Putting my socks on with ease.

Looking at myself naked and liking what I see. ( also letting my hubby see me naked )

Looking forward to going out with my friends and not being the fat one in the bunch.

Riding a bike with my daughter and husband.

Seeing my old friends from Ky. that I haven't seen in 2yrs because I haven't wanted them seeing me fat.

Tucking the shirt in jeans, wearing belts, no X sizes.

Wearing a bathing suit.

Being able to see what I am shaving in the shower.

More active sex life.

Eating healthier and feeling healthy

And anything else you can think of that goes along with not being fat.

I love everyones answers. So excited I could burst !

Here are a few of the things that I am most looking forward to:

  1. Wearing jeans with my shirt tucked in!
  2. I want to buy a fancy belt to wear with the jeans with the tucked in shirt. (I AM from Texas...a fancy belt is practically required)

Going horseback riding (never done it, always wanted to).

Weighing LESS than my husband again! (he lost 217 lbs with RNY)

Running! I have always wanted to run/jog for exercise, but I can't get more than a few feet now.

Wearing a dress, and feeling comfortable.

Buying my bras and panties from Victoria's Secret instead of Lane Bryant.

Finally getting pregnant after 11 years of trying!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
