I'll be able to start soft solids soon. YAY! There've been a few things I've been curious about. I looked at my nut's plan and it's not very clear so I looked at the Northwest Obesity Plan...still not clear.

When were yall able to have:

Cereal (like cheerios)

slices of cheese or cheese sticks

VEGETABLES! I'm craving veggies so badly. I would love some squash or zucchini or mushrooms or something... esp carrots.. carrots would be good too.

fruit? Aside from bananas what kind of fruit did yall start off on?

Is there anything else yall started introducing during the soft solids stage that hasn't even entered my mind yet? Anything that's a definite "don't even think about it yet"?

On soft foods, I could have veggies that were steamed or canned fork squishy. I avoided seeds like Tomato seeds, cucumber seeds, and zuchinni seeds. I also was told to not eat celery unless I destringed it even if it was cooked soft.

Fruit. I was allowed canned fruit, again squishy. I was told to go easy on the fresh fruit due to the tough digestion of fibrous foods. Absolutely NO peels. I also had a small applesauce or two.

I really didn't do cereal because of the low Protein and fear of becoming a slider food. I tried mixing flavorless Protein with my oatmeal, but it made a weird texture, and if it got the least bit hot, it clumped.

I did have string cheese in tiny well chewed bits, but not at first.

Melted cheese was fine.

mostly protein, tuna, other fish, ground meats, chicken cooked moist and tender, cottage cheese, greek yogurt.

I wasn't allowed raw fruits and veggies until 6 weeks. I loved my first salad.

Can't help with the Cheerios--don't like cold Cereal so I don't eat it. However, I could have oatmeal with a lot of milk in mushy stage. Let your Cheerios get mushy.

I had melted cheese over refried Beans during softs. I didn't eat cheese sticks until the go-ahead for all foods. They still fill me up too fast.

Vegetables--well-cooked veg at all foods--no salad or raw carrots for 3 mos.

I ate a lot of applesauce, peaches and pears in the blender, etc. during softs.

Good luck!

refried beans: that reminds me. I would cook one small egg, add a spoonful of refried Beans, a pinch of cheese and a dash of hot sauce. mmmmmm....

I've done that too minus the hot sauce lol.

When did yall do canned spinach? I was thinking about it last night and it seemed to fit all the requirements? Canned....soft... no skin... no seeds...

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
