oliviam 3 Posted March 2, 2011 Okay so as one might assume, I am freaking out a bit about having missed my period. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet, I think I am in denial! Friends keep telling me that all the stress and the low calorie intake could be affecting my period. Has this happened to anyone else?
disp4so 3 Posted March 2, 2011 Mine was all screwed up for the first 3 months, I had the opposite happen though. I had 3 periods in a month. It has since gone back to normal.. once a month and pretty regular... Okay so as one might assume, I am freaking out a bit about having missed my period. lucill35 73 Posted March 3, 2011 i haven't had a period in years (depo-provera) and since being sleeved at the end of january, i have had a week of spotting, a week off and a week spotting again. i think it has to do with the release of estrogen that is stored in fat cells. i've also stopped taking my prozac since surgery so maybe with all the changes, everything is out of whack. i will say though that otherwise i feel great! lost 10 lbs pre-op and 25 lbs since surgery 1/29! genepha 47 Posted March 3, 2011 Olivia, I can't help you in this department as I've had endometrial ablation so I don't have a period anymore. Hope you find out soon what's causing this to happen.
JodieC 0 Posted March 3, 2011 Mine was waaaay late! I think all the changes our bodies are going through must have something to do with it.
TijuanaPlication 87 Posted March 3, 2011 Had that happen to me years ago when I was doing just good ol' WW. I think not eating much does it (I have the contraceptive injection now and don't get periods).
Butrcupz622 1 Posted March 3, 2011 Mine's is the opposite. I've gotten my period every month since the surgery. Before I would get them every 2-3 months.
sdaniel105 0 Posted March 3, 2011 Irregularor or no period can be a symptom of not enough Protein in your diet. Had this problem early in the Pre-Op diet since I could not handle the Protein shakes. Found Isopure and period came back as expected just a couple days late. SD
NotSoLittleMermaid 14 Posted March 3, 2011 I was spotting/bleeding for a looonnnnggg time after surgery. Then it stopped, then I had a really bad period and now I am bleeding again on and off. What lucill35 said was interesting.. maybe that is the cause of our being out of whack.
dlflightgirl 2 Posted March 4, 2011 I haven't had any period although I did have major PMS. I'm not going to worry yet. I'm only on week 3 so I'm gonna give it some time.
