Hey there everyone. This is my first posting. I just want all to know that today is day one of my liquid diet. I am scheduled to have my surgery on March 15th in Mexico and am sooooo excited. I know that my life will change. I will have a better outlook on life and my confidence will sore when I start losing. My daughter and I have already planned a vacation over Memorial Day weekend. I hope to have lots of pounds off by then. Here's to me for this decision. YEAH. Go, girl, Go.

Welcome to VST! Great group of people on site providing a lot of good infomation, or at least intentions to provide good information. Make sure you take a look at this thread:

http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/10081-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-surgery-thread/

Talks about what other people felt they needed for surgery. I personally highly recommend heating pad (feels oh so good) and not drinking cold drinks. Lukewarm. Those two items would have saved me a lot of discomfort. Never felt "pain" but a lot of discomfort when drinking and acid stomache afterwards.

Also - don't cheat on your diet. Oh so important so that the surgeon has easy access to stomach during surgery. Hard, but results are worth every moment of preop diet agony.

When you say "do not cheat" on your pre-op diet, what do you mean? My pre-op diet consists of low carbs, Protein & about 1,500 calories per day.....isn't everyone different??? Thanks for the information!!
