juliegeraci 7 Posted June 22, 2006 I am just a little over 2 weeks in. When I had the band placed I had total restriction and now I'm not sure when to stop eating. Can you please tell me what "types" of feelings you got when you felt full? After a fill will I get more of that type of feeling? Thank you!:hungry:
Woodys 0 Posted June 22, 2006 I am 2 wks post op as well.....as of today I've lost that restricted feeling ...at first I couldn't take in much at all, I know that is because of the swelling, then I could stick with the liquid and full liquid plan...however...at that time I was confused about the feeling "full" sensation...I didn't know if I was really full or if it had something to do with gas and the swelling. I am very interested in the answers to this post. Carol
Iulizbug 0 Posted June 22, 2006 When I get "full" now it is much different than pre-band. Now I get soft and hard cues that let me know that I have had enough. I try to stop at the first signs to avoid a sliming/PB episode. My cues are a tightness in my chest/throat and sometimes burping. If I continue to eat I then will usually hiccup. That is my last warning to stop and if I ignore that then I am usually off to the bathroom in a few minutes. :faint: Try to get in the habit of taking a breather and waiting a minute after you think you may be getting full. That way you will know if the tightness is just temporary with that particular bite of food or if you are DONE and need to walk away from the table. It does take time though. I really didn't learn until just this month what my cues were. Good luck!!! ~Liz~ banded 03/10/06 Dr.Ortiz 241/197/150 5'7''
Wheetsin 714 Posted June 22, 2006 I stop eating when I am no longer hungry. Not when I'm full - just when I stop being hungry. The only time I will go beyond that is if I have to in order to meet a minimum Protein intake. For many of us "hunger" and "eating" are totally separate things. Focus on the hunger - not the eating.
