Lmom1980 29 Posted February 27, 2011 I have been on my 800 calorie pre-op diet for 4 days now and have lost 8 pounds. That shocks me. I was thinking it would be a pound a day, not 2 pounds a day. It has been hard at times. Today I baked a pizza for my kids and it smells so good. My husband is being the diet police, so I am staying on track. He's watching me like a hawk! LOL. 4 days down 10 to go! .......ugh I just realized it is more like 25 days to go since I am on liquids after surgery. I am sure I will say it was all worth it in the end. FatToPhat 83 Posted February 28, 2011 Hang in there! Think of the 8 lbs you've lost already! That's 8 lbs you don't have to lose after the surgery! You're ahead of the game! Since I'm starting my preop diet tomorrow, I weighed and measured today and made my dear husband take "before" photos of me so I can visualize the loss, also. Then went to the store and bought lots of sugar free (blech!) popsicles, Jello, crystal light, broth, Protein Drinks, etc. I've been pigging out on all my favorite foods this past week or two and feel bloated and lethargic and my skin has broken out. I think I'm ready for some healthier foods! Actually, after about 2 days of the liquid diet, I'll probably regret THAT statement! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
oliviam 3 Posted February 28, 2011 I must admit, the pre op diet was quite difficult for me. Don't let this discourage you when you think about the post op liquid diet. The post op diet is so much easier than the pre op diet because you don't want to eat. Before the surgery, you want to eat EVERYTHING! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
