I have been trying out some of my samples this evening and GROSS!!!! My questions are:

1) Can we have milk in our shakes in stage 1 (clear liquids)?

2) If so, can we add things into the shakes (strawberries, blueberries, bananas, peanut butter) in stage 1 as well?

I can not stand the shakes themselves, so I need to mix something with them or after 2 or 3 I won't be able to swallow them anymore. If I can't, then I guess I will be on just the Unjury chicken Soup until I can find one I can handle.

Any suggestions??

Lisa,

I was not allowed to have milk until after my two week post op visit with the doctor. I was not allowed any fruit until 6 weeks out. But I have found that my nutritionist is on the conservative side of things. I was drinking Protein Shakes for a few months before surgery and after I could not drink the same kind. Tasted different and not in a good way. I bought some to try (if you buy them from GNC you can return what you dont like) and I finally found one I could drink 3-4 times a day. Once you are allowed...I now mix my chocolate Protein with PB2 (a powdered form of peanut butter) and I drink two a day and they taste just like Reses PB cups. Good Luck to you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
