So here's what I'm worried about. I know that when you are fat, it fills out wrinkles I'm scared that when I lose weight that I will start to look old and get wrinkles! I've looked through some people's before and after pics on here and I've noticed that alot of people look older when they get skinny. I'm probably being superficial and silly but has anyone else besides me worred about this?

You have to remember that our face is full when we are overweight and the elasticity of the skin isn't going to be as firm. There are some products that could be useful while you're losing weight. I take Biosil which is good for the skin and hair. It costs about $30 but my boyfriend has already noticed my face looking more vibrant. I also use skin firming lotion for my face. Try researching some good skin care products. You'll probably find something worth trying.

I'm sure you get more wrinkles, but I think most people here look years younger after they lose weight....

yeah, I worry about it because I'm almost 47 -- sigh. But, so far, I have not gotten any wrinkles -- but yes, I do worry about it, but only cause I'm halfway old

I'm nearly 42 and I do worry about it, but to be honest I'd rather have a few more wrinkles (which are easy to take care of with some botox if i was really desperate) than being fat!

Hi, I am 54 and so far my face doesn't seem to be any more wrinkly but my arms, thighs and stomach are. At first I was a bit alarmed by it but then I realized it doesn't look any worse then the fact.

Well I'm hoping that since I'm 25 that I won't get real wrinkly. I hope my skin will snap back.*fingers crossed*

LilMissDiva, nope! I think you look great!

Ohhh *whew*... I was already planning my face lift along with all my other lifts!

And yes, if you're young I really say you don't have anything to worry about. :-)

I'm 22, and I think that I might actually look my age after I've lost the weight. Right now, no one believes I'm 22 without seeing my license, people say I look 25 or 26. I'm definately looking forward to looking my age again ;)

You may look older but I am sure your better figure, increased energy, better posture etc. will counter act that...at least that's what I am hoping for.

The other thing to consider is that often between the before and after, there are a couple of years so yeah, they look older because they ARE older :-)

I think most people regardless of age and wrinkles look younger when they lose weight. It's not just the face nut overall level of energy etc.

I think I look younger, but I have more wrinkles. I'm not sure, but you can see my pictures, and make the call if I look old.

I'm 34, and the only time I have noticeable wrinkles is when I smile my crow's feet show, and the laugh lines around my mouth are more apparent. Personally, I'll take looking my age over looking like a can of Grand's biscuits popped at the seam.

I will have face work done because I'm vain. I will have botox, and some sort of filler for my laugh lines, but I do not need it. I want it. Not for any other reason than I think I need it. Ask all of my friends, my husband, and they think I'm crazy because they all think I look 10 years younger. I get carded for cigarettes and alcohol. Most people think I'm my husband's age which is 6 years younger than I really am. I think it's how I view myself. The outside world seems to think I'm my age or a few years younger.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
