Toast a slider?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if toast is a slider food? When I eat Protein I have so much restriction at 2 months out and sometimes I can feel it creeping back up my throat. I had the smallest bit of salmon last night and felt SO full after. Well, I decided to have my toast last night and I managed one large slice of toast in 15 minutes with a nice satiated feeling but not a stuffed feeling like with protein. I just wanted to check if that's normal. There is always this feeling of..."oh..that went down well. That was a big slice of toast...oh no, have I stretched my sleeve?" LOL. The paranoia set in. It's not like I could sit and eat toast after toast, though; one was definitely enough, just surprised my tummy didn't reject it.

you betcha! I love toast cause it doesn't cause that tight yuk creeping out of your throat feeling. . .I can easily down 2 slices of toast without a problem, but give me 1 chicken leg, good lord!

haha! That's very true, isn't it? Protein is so filling on the sleeve but that toast just seems to go down like a treat!

I totally know what you mean! If I eat fish or chicken I fill up sooooo quick and it just sits in my throat which is so uncomfortable, but if I have toast or Jennie-o Turkey, either ground or the cutlets, it does great in my tummy! Weird!

Any carbs will go through you a lot quicker than the Protein will. Which is why you are supposed to limit the carbs

Most definitely I had to cut all those sliders out as I haven't lost a pound in 7 weeks, looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in as I've focused on Protein this week.

You have to read the fine print also check out my intro to really understand. I came home in 2009 on a mission I lost the initial 200 lbs on my own with blood sweat tears and nutrition eating 5 small meals allowing myself one cheat meal a week whether it was chicken parm or $15 at taco bell.

I cut out beer and soda for the most part as I knew I was headed toward a lifetime without it and really stayed away from the sweets.

I ramped up my exercise when I was 575 lbs I couldn't hardly do 10 minutes on the treadmill at 2 mph and now today and yesterday I did over 3 miles on the elliptical in 30 minutes and did a full body workout upper one day/lower the next

It really is easy when you think about it but we are our own worst enemies 3 things will keep you on track 1) Eat Protein 2) Drink Water 3) Exercise... of course Vitamins, support groups, and doctor follow ups are extremely important as well but those first three things are what really gets the sleeve working for you.

I've lost 105 lbs in 7+ months post sleeve and after recommitting to working my sleeve this week I think i'm going to see another big drop on the scale tomorrow can't wait!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
