KajunGumbo 74 Posted April 6, 2014 Is the honeymoon period considered the first 6 mos or the first year? My doctor never mentioned this to me?
Chelenka 827 Posted April 7, 2014 I don't think there's a specific amount of time but I would say for most of us it the first 6-8 months, after which in my case, I started to be able to eat more and my hunger returned. I still continued to lose but at a much slower rate with a lot of ups and downs. I have to work at it now in order to reach my goal (just 7 lbs to go). It's not as much of a struggle as it was pre-sleeve though. 3 gourmetone, katesuccess and mitz reacted to this

It's not as much of a struggle as it was pre-sleeve though. I'm in the same boat, except I'm not losing any more. I've not been as strict as I need to be. I know that to lose I have to eat around 800 calories a day, and that's getting harder to do. I have to agree, it's still way better than before surgery! I lost easily for the first 10 months, then it slowed for the next 6, and now it has stopped. I'm so close to goal...just not sure I'll ever actually make it! On one hand I think "it's just a number" and then I remember so was 306 - it's a number I hated!
KajunGumbo 74 Posted April 7, 2014 Do you think it gets more difficult because your hunger returns or you can now eat more food?
Chelenka 827 Posted April 7, 2014 For me it's both. Plus it's the eternal struggle with emotional eating and sugar addiction. I don't want to say I'll never eat a sweet treat again because I know it would be a lie. I seem to have a fine line when it comes to sugar. 1 Mikee57 reacted to this
KajunGumbo 74 Posted April 8, 2014 I struggle with sweets also, the last year before sleeved, I gave up soda, white carbs & fried foods still no weightloss. It's amazing the weight I have lost even the first four weeks. 2 Chelenka and Mikee57 reacted to this

mitz 221 Posted April 14, 2014 Let's see I was sleeved 6/19/13 no major problems on my 6 mth check up, my blood work was perfect. Doctor said I'm no longer in the obese category, I hide a lot of it in my height I'm 6'5 but it's been so long that I can't even remember weighing 247. Now we have a cold snap in Louisville we are going from 88° to 40° possible snow.. I just bought sleeveless shirts to show off my arms but oh well ... Lol.. Get out and enjoy people ????????????????????????????????????????
