Rena's got this 274 Posted November 5, 2013 The six months has been excruciatingly long. I think every day that my knees won't hold out much longer. Tomorrow is my last dietitian appointment, and hopefully they won't wait too long to submit my paperwork. That said, I have learned a lot from my dietitian. 1 Chelenka reacted to this
tparkerc59 334 Posted November 6, 2013 I finally hit my second big milestone over the weekend' date=' I've now lost over 100lbs...still not halfway to my goal but life is getting better and better every day. I walk at least a mile every day, and on the weekend I try to do at least one two mile walk (that is my limit for right now). I feel so much better and am so much more active both at work and at home. Even contacted a personal trainer this weekend to see if I can't start actually getting in shape again. For over thirty years I've been waging a loosing war with nothing but wieght gain, it's great to finally win a battle and loose some weight...Go Sleeve![/quote']Welcome to the century club! Congrats on your hard work and dedication. Sent from my iPad using VST

caroline2 89 Posted November 6, 2013 Hello all. My name is Caroline from Memphis. I have three grown children and two of them are considering having babies. I have to get in shape! I've been steadily gaining weight for about 20 years. I'm 5'3", 263 lbs. I start pre-op diet Friday and surgery is scheduled 11/22. I'm so tired of being tired, my knees hurt all the time, acid reflux stinks, COPD and asthma are worse with weight gain, depression is worse, on days off I just want to sleep. Something very strange...since I got my surgery date I've realized how weight gain has affected my life for so many years. It's been very depressing. I want to be able to put socks and shoes on without huffing and puffing. I'm glad to have found this group and the segment for 50 and over. I look forward to starting my journey! 4 ImLooznit, FibroDiva, Chelenka and 1 other reacted to this

PGee 318 Posted November 6, 2013 I'm so tired of being tired, my knees hurt all the time, I want to be able to put socks and shoes on without huffing and puffing. Welcome and Congratulations on the date, it'll be here before you know it! Surgery was 8/6, and my knees feel so much better.....can do stairs again.....I now have the energy of a 5 year old.....anything DH can do, I can do......I have more weight to lose, but now have hope that it'll happen.......and I can tie my shoes, put my socks on w/o huffing and puffing........and it didn't take long to get to that point.....what a wonderful feeling. I couldn't sleep preop because of aches and pains, but now I get in a decent 7-8 hours a night......wishing you the best on this journey!

FibroDiva 60 Posted November 14, 2013 Hello all. My name is Caroline from Memphis. I have three grown children and two of them are considering having babies. Welcome and congratulations. I am 56. I made the decision to have my surgery on my 56th birthday. My granddaughter was getting ready to turn 1 a month later and I just realized I wanted to be around for her. My surgery was exactly 6 months after my 56th bday. Now as we approach the holidays I am delighted that I can run after her, pick up, carry her, and climb the stairs after her. 1 caroline2 reacted to this
