What were you eating at a week out?

Recommended Posts

I am one week post-op and I am just curious to see what others have eaten around this time period and how much. Right now I am getting in 60oz of Water, only about 30g of Protein but steadily climbing, one can of veggie Soup liquified and spead through out the day, and one sugar free popsicle thats only 100cals.

Sound pretty normal?

Oh wow, yeah I'm only allowed to have pure liquified stuff so that's why I put my veggie Soup in a blender. I am supposed to do liquids for 3 weeks and then move on to mushies.

Water, popsicles, Jello, crystal lite, broth from caldo de pollo (chicken soup), Isopure 2-3 oz at a time. I highly recommend Isopure because it's a Protein Drink (like a punch) and has 40 g of Protein in 20 oz. I buy mine at GNC but I think u can buy it over the internet also.

I had my surgery on 2/19/2011 and I am eating about the same. I get my 64oz of Water in I also get my Protein 40-60 grams. I eat a ton of popsicles buy my are 15 calories surger free. I bought som French Onion broth at Walmart so I eat that or chicken broth for dinner. I don't like Jello so I can't force myself to eat it. I have tried but can't do it. I feel great. Just a little sore.

I had my surgery 2-15 and eat yogurt, popsicles, Protein Shakes (muscle milk), and a lot of Soups. I just eat the broth but have had clam chowder, brocolli cheese from togos and I am having hot and sour Soup from a chinese restaurant now. I lost 18 pounds thus far and I am feeling pretty good. I am not starving either but can't wait to eat more normal food soon. Good luck and hang in there.

I was on Clear Liquids but I made sure i got my Protein in because if I didn't , I had NO energy!! I used Unjury chicken noodle Soup and Proasis Protein Shots. They have 25 grams of protein in a 2.9 oz bottle.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
