I have tons on medical conditions. There wasn't for me. The language in my policy was very clear, no treatment for weight loss, including WLS. No way around it no matter what my health was. Morsaille 4 Posted June 22, 2006 Me too. Written exclusion that was added while I waited for my sleep study. There is no way around it. It is not technically discrimination since a provider can choose NOT to cover anything they choose. Wheetsin explained it very well once. Your insurance can choose not to cover X-rays, that doesn't mean that they are discriminating against those with bones. I found a great surgeon in MX. I have tons on medical conditions. Dre, whether there is any way around the exclusion depends on your state's laws. But if you work for a very large company typically they write their own policies with the carrier and it's done very deliberately.
