Good news from the doctor, but worried it won't last..

Recommended Posts

So after my month from hell and my 14 days in the hospital I was once again told everything was perfect.. I just don't want to Celebrate for fear of me having more problems.. I have delt with a leak, an absess, pneumonia and a collapsed lung during the past month. I was hospitalized twice for a total of 14 days. I feel great and I am in a size 16!! That's 3 pants sizes in 2 months. I don't want anything else to go wrong I am trying to get myself back to the positive thinking. I just know that anything can happen at anytime.. However my doctor made me feel great with the news of me being able to start back at the gym lifting weights, and doing the ever so beloved ZUMBA!! I need to tone and I need to do it ASAP!! LoL before surgery I was at the gym 3-4 days a week for 2 hours at a time. I need to get that going again.. Anyway I am going to stop rambling and get off of here.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
