Dawn 16 Posted February 21, 2011 I am 14 weeks post-op today and it seems that my stomach is holding less food then it did just a few weeks ago? I am been sick for the past week and haven't been eating/drinking as much as I normally do but now that I'm feeling better I know I need to get Protein in and some more calories. I have been able to eat 2 eggs and 1 piece of toast as a meal for WEEKS now and now I can't. I have tried twice this week and I'm only able to get 1/2 piece of toast and 1 egg and I'm FULL! Is it normal for you to go back and forth on the amount you can hold?

seniorsleever 17 Posted February 21, 2011 It could also be that your stomach is still swollen from being sick. When the stomach swells, it doesn't get bigger--it actually gets a smaller lumen, or inside diameter. Think of it this way--the tissue of the stomach swells to the inside as well as out. So the opening inside your sleeve would be reduced by swelling. Give it a few more days to get back to normal. I bet you will be able to eat what you could before.
