One Workout Away From A Great Mood

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else feel this way?

This is my new motto.

I have to work out in the evenings after work - as I catch the vanpool at 5:40 AM.

So I find myself all day - I can't wait to get to the gym....

Maybe it's a good thing, it keeps me eating right thru the day so I can endure my workout with strength!?

I am in the best mood after a workout!!

Me too! But, I can't always get out of work on time to get to the gym. It makes me soooo frustrated. I wish I could just tell my bosses "hey, give me one stinkin' year to take care of myself".

The very reason (aside from gas/tolls) I joined a VAN POOL !!!!

I have to leave work, as I won't have a ride home!!

So many benefits!!

Exercise really does make you feel better. I see what I need to do today. After I finish I have a sense of accomplishment and I feel closer to my goals. I am doing something for myself when I workout and that is a wonderful thing.

When the weather was cooler I was excited about going to the park to walk after work. Now, I have to force myself to do something right after work. But on the weekends I have the rush, I have to get out of the house and walk. Have to. I like that feeling. WOW I'm ready to go. I guess I will be doing the walk away the pounds tape. I will go to the library and rent Billy Blanks this weekend. I am ready to get on this.

Hi All, for over 10 years I walked in the mornings and keep my weight in check - then, everything changed - hubby became very ill and passed away and yep - the weight shot right up! The band is helping get weight down BUT I just hadn't started walking. BUT I finally set my alarm clock and I am walking again early in the AM. I like walking in the AM because nothing ever gets in the way of me doing it. If I have a chance or the weather is nice, I like to take a short walk in the evenings. But, like all of you the evenings are alittle harder because "life" always finds away to mess it up. Thanks for this thread. And let's keep moving and smiling!

Yep walking in the AM really helps my mood and view about life.

Hugs Donna / Sacramento CA

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
