3xNoMore 3 Posted February 21, 2011 This is really starting to concern me. I have never been able to take multi-Vitamins. Not even when I was pregnant, I couldn't handle the prenatal Vitamins either. I've tried before, during, and after eating, I get sick regardless. My surgery date is March 7th. I went to costco to pick up all my "get ready for surgery" supplies. The were giving out samples of Eco-Vitamin, you add the packet to Water. It tasted very good and didn't make me sick. I thought it will be better than no vitamins and maybe I could put the powdered Protein in it. It was $20 for a 30 day supply. It has 0 carbs &0 calories. Could someone take a look at it and tell me if it is ok? http://sgnnutrition.com/-ecodrinkdaily.html The package says you can use up to 3 packets a day. Has anyone tried this? thanks 3xNoMore
Tiffykins 673 Posted February 21, 2011 The only thing I see that is missing is Iron and Zinc which is pretty important for us. You'll still want to supplement with a sublingual B12 since we can't properly absorb b12 post-op. You'll also need to find a calcium citrate that your body can tolerate. 3xNoMore 3 Posted February 21, 2011 Thanks. I was able to tolerate the sublingual B12. I'll look for the others.
emilygrace 5 Posted February 28, 2011 I had the same thing with nausea after Multivitamin, but find if I take it last thing at night before bed it doesn't make me feel sick. The other thing is a liquid Multivitamin that I got at costco that you just take a shot of daily.
dlflightgirl 2 Posted February 28, 2011 I suggest going online for puritans pride. All my Vitamins are from there and chewable. They all taste great.
Eureka-C 20 Posted February 28, 2011 The Iron in Multivitamins is what always made me nauseous. I haven't had the problem with the chewable multivitamins after surgery. I also take the Bariatric Advantage iron with no problems.
