Do you still enjoy wine (or alchohol in general) after sleeve?

Recommended Posts

My new drink is Cranberry and vodka with a a twist of lime. I have it like once a week. If I have not eaten I am drunk fast on one drink, but it also wears off before dinner is over.

Vodka has zero carbs and 55 calories. I use cranberry juice light.

I am 5 months post op. I have had both wine and mixed drinks (vodka tonics are my favorites). I find that if I eat something before I drink I do better. If I drink on an empty stomach, it hits me pronto!

Drink up. You will go out of ketosis and profoundly impact your weight loss. Do it on a regular basis and you will have lots and lots of very long stalls. Or even better, gain a new addiction.

You don't have to be in ketosis to lose weight. Not everyone is a puritan.

I've done quite a bit of personal research on the topic. That doesn't make me a Puritan. That makes me informed. But you are correct in that you do not have to be in ketosis to lose weight. However, regular consumption of alcohol will have an impact.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
