myrori 55 Posted March 3, 2011 hi having my sleeve on feb 28,i am on 100 mg paxil for anxiety ,im worried if eating so little will trigger anxiousness!! becauase every time i try low carb like 45 grams i become anxious and jittery, anyone with this problem???? need help, also looking for support buddy im 36 female in new york but have unlimitted min in usa so you can be anywhere in usa please please please everyone help with answers so so so grateful to all of you unjiry I am sorry I did not see this post before you had surgery. When I was eating badly and consuming too many carbs I would get the feeling you describe when I tried cutting back all of the sudden to low carbs. It was explained to me that it was not anxiety, but low blood sugar because my body was used to responding to the over load I was giving it with too much insulin leading to insulin resistance. When I got these episodes I would have to drink some juice to bring my blood sugar up Once I got on to a healthy diet and my body stablized its sugar and insulin response to it I no longer had the episodes and I am fine with 30 to 40 grams of carbs in a day. If you have been overloading you will need to cut back more slowly and eat foods that maintain you sugar longer. I hope your surgery went well and hope to hear from you soon.
