justdance 0 Posted February 20, 2011 I have done all my clearances and have received approval from insurance. Now I am just waiting for Monday to come so I can schedule my surgery date and pre-op testing. Was just wondering if anyone could tell me what is involved in the testing before surgery.. virtygirl 11 Posted February 20, 2011 Hello and congratulations on your approval. Pre-op testing depends on your insurance and doctor performing the surgery. Under Kaiser Mid-atlantic, the H-Pylori, sleep study for sleep apnea, echocardiogram (if ever taken phen-fen) to name a few, but you will receive more information from your surgeon's office regarding his/her requirements. GreenEyedMamma 5 Posted February 20, 2011 Congrats! I had the following pre-op tests: Echo, Chest X-Ray, Abdominal Ultrasound, Upper GI, Treadmill Stress Test, had to give a TON of blood, and an EKG. I didn't have to have a psych. evaluation. Dawn

iegal 460 Posted February 20, 2011 Hello and congratuons on your start of a journey to a new you! Each surgeon is different. I had an EKG, had to have a normal mammogram in last year, LOTS of physc evals (my surgeon is a stickler for who he takes on...or maybe he was questioning me ) tons of blood given, upper body ultrasound to check to see if I had gallstones (I do) and had to had a good report on annual physical within the six months. All meds were reviewed. Lots of questions asked more than once. Support group attendance. Nice to know that long term health was important. Good luck...and I have no regrets. Love my sleeve!
