I am paying for my sleeve and I think I am having to do the same prep as folks with insurance. I was cranky about the psych eval but then realized that my work has an EAP program (Employee Assistance Program) so I called them and they gave me a referral to a counselor. I am approved for 5 visits as a work benefit so at least I won't have to pay for that. Many larger employers offer these type programs. Some of my pre-op blood work will be paid for by my BCBS insurance as my PCP is going to order them as part of my annual follow-up. The bulk of it though falls on my private pay shoulders! I have some serious co-morbids though and I figure the surgery will prolong my life. :thumbs_up:

      Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

        Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive).
