What is your target BMI?

Recommended Posts

What is your target BMI? My doctor said that I should expect to reach 30 within the first year, from a start of 42. I have to laugh when the Wii Fit game tells me that my target BMI is 22. I haven't weighed that much since junior high school, i.e. not full grown. If I can get to my high school weight (full grown), that would be a BMI of 25. I will be happy if I can get below a BMI of 30.

Hey,

I've set my ultimate goal at a bmi of 24.9 just to get into the normal range... but like you I would be happy with it in the twenties...

I wanted to be under 25, so as to be in a healthy weight range. I'm currently at 24, I wouldn't mind losing another 2-3 lbs off of my inner thighs/butt, which would put me closer to 23, but otherwise I'm content with my weight. I'm not "skinny," but I'm not overweight, either.

I want to be about a 23. I started at 51. Currently at 42.

I want to become a stem cell donor.... and I need a normal BMI to do so!

I started at 39, and I'm now at 29. I'd like to get below 25. I've never been considered "healthy" in my entire adult life, and I'd really like to hit that mark.

I was 42 (I think -- gotta look at my ticker below) and I would like to be 24 (I think my ticker says 24 something) -- I want to be normal. That's it. Just normal :)

Edit: yikes I was almost 45!

I am wanting to get to below 30. I would love to hit 210 but anything under 30 would be good for me

My highest BMI ever was an amazing 53. It's hard for me to even think it. Right now I'm just breaking into 34.9 which will get me to be only obese and not the dreaded MORBIDLY obese. I would like to get down to a "normal" BMI which is 24.9 - and from there I really don't know. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, I suppose.

I'm aiming for the normal weight range, ie a BMI under 25. Started at 40.5, now 35 and due to be sleeved in 10 days. I'm a 1/3 of the way there - so the next 2/3 will be courtesy of a nice wee sleeve :D . I'll be happy with anything in the healthy weight range (still sitting in "obese", sob)

My doctor wouldnt operate me, if he didnt think, that I could go under 25, he said.

He asked all kinds of questions about my eating habits.

I was "only" at 33, but with servere health problems.

I would love to get below 25. That would be great

But have I startet at a much higher BMI, I would probably be more than happy to reach 30.

Because of my healthproblems I know that it would help me to get below 25.

I started "low" at 31-something.

My goal is about 23-24 because that's where I was as a young adult.

But anything under 25 would be GREAT! It's still very hard to imagine myself there...

My goal is 22 maximum. But I will be happy if I get to a normal 24.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
