julissa0228 0 Posted February 17, 2011 Hi, My name is Judith and I lived in NJ, I started the process for revision from Lapband to VSG, I am very nervous and scare about the whole thing, this time I do not want to tell anyone because I know I will get all kinds of comments as I barely lose any weight with the Lapband my band slipped and it needs to come out and if I decide to have another surgery it need to be one procedure. I am afraid it will not work like the band, but at the same time I see so many successful stories here that it gives me courage to go thru with it. I just hope I am making the right decision. Billy363627 15 Posted February 17, 2011 well judith you are at the right sight for the answers you need. I had just the sleeve alone but i can tell you lthat I would do it 100 times over with no regrets. The band from the things I have heard has so many failures. Slips and after 3 to 5 years the complications increase rapidly.. I wont tell you that this surgery is right for you but I for one am very happy with it so far..The only true thing I can tell you is to educate yourself and make a decision based on your finding. Margaret 4 Posted February 17, 2011 Oh, Judith! I'm getting ready to have the sleeve procedure and cannot wait. I attend a wonderful sleeve support here (TN) and one night a woman who had had her band reversed to sleeve said she thought she surely MUST be doing something wrong it had been so easy. She said the surgery was a breeze, she was eating, she was losing weight, she felt like a million dollars without a problem in the world. She was hilarious! I know it's the way to go if one wants to make a big positive difference in his/her health. This website answers all kinds of questions. If your are has a support group, go! Ours meets once/month for 45 minutes. Last month we brought clothes for a big clothing swap. Best of luck to you. If I had a band, I'd get rid of it with the sleeve without a qualm in the world! MRSKOUBiK 27 Posted February 18, 2011 You came to the right place. There are a LOT of band to sleeve people here. I suggest you talking to Irene and Tiffany. They're great assets! Becca too!
