Hahahahahaahahhhahehehehehhe heee hee hee hee ....

So many of you know that I am in a deployed environment. As I have mentioned here in the Ladies Room, deployment is a long, long, LONG time, and when you combine that with the ... unusual ... side effects of surgery, there can be times when, well, when...

you just. wanna. get it. ON.

However, again, being a deployed environment, pickings are ... slim. And complicated. So what is a girl to do? Well, this girl took care of business, and let's just leave it at that. However, someone stateside sent me a goodie basket (indeed, indeed). Having no need for what the box contained, as I already had the situation well in hand, I put them aside to be forgotten about.

Well, I am preparing to leave and giving away tons of things; books, dvd's Snacks, toiletries, you name it. And then I remembered the goodie box. Well, all the other goodies I put in our female bathrooms at work, it is the understood drop-off point for stuff. So, I picked one of the lesser used bathrooms and discreetly tucked the goodies into a big cardboard box ful of pads & tampons.

When I went to check at the end of the day, it was gone! Did I mention that the kit contained a "bullet" vibe, personal lubricant, and tub of edible "nipple" balm? Oh yeah!! :P:lol:

Are you going back to the States??

OMG, that is hysterical!! Not just *any* box, but a box that only us women would be interested in. I'm sure whoever opened it got a little surprise...certainly no what they were expecting in that type of box.

The tampons and pads were in a big open cardboard box in which all the tampon and pad boxes were jumbled, and I think upon inspection it would be clear to the new "owner" of the goodie box that it was unused, though I did dab a fingertip onto the balm - to use on my mouth, I was out of lipgloss! :D

Haha! I guess someone was even more desperate! But I wish I had your problem - I've had basically zero sex drive for the last 6 months or so, my boyfriend's annoyed (although understanding). I thought it'd get better when I lost weight (nope), went off the pill (nope), or exercised more (nope). It's kind of frustrating.

First, Globetrotter, that is freaking hilarious!

Second, Blackberry juice, I think someone said that progesterone cream can help get your "mojo" back! Maybe give that a try?

Thanks, I'll look into that. I suspect the most likely cause is school-related stress, so we'll see if it improves in the summer when I get a few weeks off.

Globetrotter that is too funny! I can only imagine what someone thought when they found your box. They probably

felt like they hit the jackpot.

Blackberry, the thing that will help with that is testosterone cream. You have to get a prescription for it, but it works sometimes too well, if you use too much~

Works "too" well? Is that like winning "too much money" in the lottery? B)

Haha! I remember reading an article in some women's magazine, maybe Marie Claire or Glamour, a few months ago - this woman had libido issues and went on testosterone supplements and went batshit crazy and started cheating on her husband with everyone. I imagine she was getting injections rather than using a topical cream, but still! That said, my boyfriend receives monthly testosterone injections (he had a precancerous ******** removed), and he still has issues in the sack. When he first started them, he thought he was gonna turn into a Ron Jeremy/The Rock, but I've noticed zero change in him so far.

EDIT: the word "tes.tic.le" is considered obscene on this site, apparently....lol

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
