Heya angels, welcome to VST!!

In answer to your question, well, once I have reached my ultimate goal I will have lost nearly 180 lbs. I have about 68 more to get there. I already was down a significant amount pre-surgery by diet/exercise on my own. I have ZERO doubt at this moment that I'll make my goal. It's been steady and quite easy even!!!

So, yes, you absolutely CAN lose ALL of your excess weight if you follow your surgeons guidelines and find a suitable eating plan that will help get you there.

Well angels I have over 150 pounds to lose.. Well to tell you the truth I think that the more you weigh the faster you lose initally. If you stay on track and eat as the doctors say and stay focused on exercise. The world is your oyster. I do believe that you have to be disiplined and have a lot of support. I tell my self everyday that this is a tool and it is up to me what I chose to eat as well as excersising. I look at where my life is right now and look back to what I was and I have a strength to make better choices. Everyone messes up from time to time but learning from the mistakes helps us grow toward a healthier us. Good luck and I wish you well..I know the people on this site are awesome and you are at a good spot for advice and support..

Need to lose 235 total From high of 385.5. At 8 months out have lost 110 pounds with 125 to go. I figure 20 months total to lose it all. There's a sub forum based on amount to lose where you'll see other folks' posts. I feel confident i'll get to goal.

I hope to lose about 237 or so. I am still at the beginning and won't be sleeved for another couple months. I have no intention of having any other procedures so I too hope this tool will work for me the entire way there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
