Brielle 0 Posted February 14, 2011 Sorry, I know its not the most pleasant of topics, but I don't know what to do. I am going on 3 weeks post op. I drank too soon after eating, and I just threw up. I haven't thrown up since I had surgery, and there was blood in it tonight. I don't know if something is wrong, or if this is normal? It's the middle of the night, and I don't want to wake my mom if nothing is wrong. I'm not in pain, i'm just still a little nauseated. Anyone else experience this? chilo1 62 Posted February 14, 2011 I would wake her up, blood in throw up can't be good. I've thrown up a few times but never with blood. I would just get it checked.
brazcan 37 Posted February 14, 2011 I would get it checked even if it was just an one time event.

Please call your surgeon right now if you have not done so yet. Blood (fresh or old) is not normal coming from your stomach or in your vomit. It may be nothing, but anytime there is blood it is better to be safe than to be sorry. I had a lot of internal bleeding after my surgery and I was throwing up several times a day, but I never had blood in my vomit. Remember that NO TWO people are ever alike in these things, so Please contact your health care provider. Brightest Blessings, Char
