How many does your doc/nut say?

Recommended Posts

They told me to keep losing weight that I would have to keep my caloric in take to 1400 calories since I was a man. and women would have to keep their caloric intake to no more than 1200 calories. I am really trying hard myself to keep my body in keytosis until I lose all the weight I need. anything under 50 carbs is considered keytosis, 50 to 100 carb is right outside of keytosis so I was told that if you stay in keytosis or right outside of keytosis is were you get most of your weight loss. Now this is just from my research and nothing more.

Mine has not mentioned calories yet, but I am only 3 1/2 weeks out and still on soft foods. I am probably only at about 500-600 calories a day if that much. I have been in a stall for over a week and am going to try to up my calories for a few days and see if that helps.

2 months out and i am supposed to be at 1200 calories, but I find it very hard. I hover around 950-1000. I have lost almost 40 lbs.

My nutrionist never mentioned and cals, quite the opposite, she said; "from now on you don't diet, you don't count calories and you stay away from light/diet-products!" What I relief that was for me to hear! :-)

So, I refuse to count calories and stick to simple eating plan of high quality foods; 3 main meals and 2-3 Snacks per day. At every meal I try to stick to 50% Protein, 30% vegetables and 20% carbs, I eat the Proteins first, then vegatables and lastly carbs. This usually means I'm full before I can finish the carbs. :-)

I'm 3 1/2 months out lost about 40 pounds and stay around 850 cals. Sometime I barely take in 600 calories. I think I'm losing so slow with such little calories I take in. I'm always freaking out about carbs, if I go over 60 I feel like I messed up my day. Some weight loss habits are so hard to break like putting myself down for not eat perfectly that day.

My NUT has not mentioned calories also. Just getting in enough Protein (64g daily) and fluids.

I am only 6 days out ...but have spoken to NUT several times and have long term diet plans. Again, no talk of calories.

No calorie guideline...just 65-100 grams of Protein a day, all from meals (not shakes) and 75% of my intake is to be protein with 25% coming from complex carbs (veggies, fruit, whole grains, etc.)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
