How does my full liquid diet look?

Recommended Posts

I've been enjoying four 1-cup servings of this lovely potato leek Soup per day, and think it's knocking me into the too-high carb range.

So I replaced two servings with EAS Protein shakes at night.

8am ------  3/4 serving potato leek organic soup

12pm ------  3/4 serving potato leek organic soup

5pm -------- 1 serving eas Protein shake

5pm -------- 1 cup Milk (1% Lowfat with Added Vitamin A)

9pm -------- 1 serving eas Protein shake

I eat (drink) at: 8am, 12pm, 5pm, 9pm

I probably should knock out the cup of milk, but I sure enjoy that in the evenings. Any suggestions or tweaks to help me get back on the losing track? I WAS working out every day for an hour, but the doctor told me to stop, so now I'm pacing occasionally around the house (which ain't the same, I miss my gym :()

thanks!

The link won't pull up your diary, just a guest diary for me to input my food.

Do you have guidelines? Are you getting your Protein? I steered clear of potatoes just bc of the carb count. I stuck with greek yogurt, sf pudding/custards to avoid carbs and strained cream Soups. I couldn't tolerate milk so that wasn't a problem for me.

Yep it's probably the potatoes. Those things will keep me from losing weight, even a few bites per day. That being russett potatoes, for some reason baby red potatoes don't do that to me. Corn also does this to me. It doesn't matter how few calories I take in, nor how many calories I burn off during my workouts. If I eat russett potatoes or corn, it halts it completely.

Also, once upon a time someone here mentioned some type of low carb milk. I can't remember the name nor who mentioned it either. I never really searched it out because I'm severely lactose intolerant since being sleeved and couldn't have any anyway. I'm stuck with Lactaid, and don't really drink so much it's a problem for me. Maybe you can do some kind of search to find out about it?

Hope this helps!!

@LOS He didn't say 3/4 cup serving, he said 3/4 serving......it may be less than a cup.

@LIL the difference in the potatoes are the starch contents. Russet potatoes have a very HIGH starch content, red and white potatoes have much lower. That's why russet potatoes are used for baked potatoes b/c they disentigrate into mush because of the starch. The red and white potatoes are used for salads b/c they keep their shape. Corn is one of the HIGHEST starch content veggies there is...totally spikes blood sugars! If you want a great alternative to white potatoes, eat sweet potatoes. (Fresh, not canned) They have a much lower starch content and are very healthy.

Awesome info, thanks! :-) I really didn't know that. I'll also start adding in some sweet potatoes to my list.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
