Low Carb Recipies

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

The recipes that you are all posting have you tried them once you have been banded and have they been good for both in losing and in not getting stuck? Just curious?

All the recipes sound so good. Willing to give them a try all at once. NOT

Lynn

:clap2:

Yes I have tried them all and IMHO I they are good. Any food can get stuck, you have to chew chew chew. My first PB was on chocolate...yeah of all things, so it just goes to show you even the simplest thing can get stuck if not chewed well.

I've been banded for more than a year and can eat EVERYTHING, just as long as I again...chew well.

Sunshine, the thought of that coconut pie mmmmmmm mmmmmmm drool LOLOL.

Asmallerchick yes, I have seen that website and its sooo cool. Thanks for posting about it. Come the new year I think I'm gonna be visiting it alot.

Mock Potato salad

I figured since summer is upon us I'd post this recipe. My sister who HATES cauliflower loves this.

This recipe can be made just like the way you make regular potato salad just using the cauliflower instead, so use what ever ingredients you want...enjoy !!!!!

1 large bag of frozen cauliflower cooked & let cool off (but don't cook to death making it mushy, thats why frozen works better than fresh..less mushy)

Mayo (you use less b/c cauliflower is a little watery)

Onion or Celery (to your taste)

Hard Boiled Egg (optional)

Salt and pepper (to your taste)

Grape Tomatoes (optional)

Bacon cooked and crumbled (optional)

Dill (to your taste)

Splash of Pickle juice (yes, Pickle Juice, it has all the seasoning in it you could ask for including vinegar, you could use sweet, or dill, or garlic, any kind works with any taste buds)

Just add a little of each above until you get it to a potato salad consistency... NOT SOUPY !!!!!

SEE !! ITS THAT EASY and a heck of a lot less calories then using regular potatoes.

Happy BBQing wink.gif

Hey guys!!

Dropped 3 more lbs since Monday wow!! I have a great recipe for you guys and it's reeeally good! Less than 150 calories here is what you need:

My friends all love this appetizer they swear I put meat in it, for us it can be a great snack, or meal I plan a grilled chicken breast fillet w/mine, and best of all the spinach makes it so healthy, and even for those of us that can't tolerate bread this one works without any pain!! Let me know what you guys think! if you have any ways to customize it let me know!

1 box of chopped Spinach (thawed)

1 box of low fat/sodium Stovetop chicken Stuffing

1 cup of low fat or fresh grated Parmesan cheese

Garlic -to taste (fresh or powder)

thaw the spinach fully but keep the Water to soften the stuffing, add everything to a medium bowl and mix well best with your hands lol.

form into small balls (about meatball size) and bake for about 20 minutes!! Seriously yummy!

Sounds great, Kevin! I'd probably add some sauteed chopped celery and onion. Hmmmm, you could add a little shredded crab.... canned, maybe. I wanted to ask... 150 calories for how many?? Thanks

Hmm the crabmeat sounds like a tasty addition, I made it last night and I was only able to eat 3, I made them about the size of a meatball. I would assume the caloric intake was right around that considering the ingredients. And yes I am not so big on bread either but I think the spinach made it tolerable but we are all different just use care!

i've never used a lot of these ingredients and was wondering if they really were close to the foods they are representing.. like squash for spaghetti and cauliflower (sp) for potatoes. I'd like to try these recipes but they have to be close enough to fool my overly picky husband.. can any tell me if they really do resemble the other foods?

I tried the pumpkin Chili recipe.....OMG, it was so good! I was a little skeptical of it, but it was wonderful. This will be the only chili recipe I use from now on!

I'm glad you enjoyed it

The texture of the cauliflower is not like potatoes but done right the taste is great !!

I personally do not like spaghetti squash

I always hated califlower, but on the mushy stage I decided if I eat one more potatoe I would go crazy, so I made the califlower mash. I put cream cheese, salt, mozerella, and a little cream in it and mashed mashed mashed. It was actually really great. You can't taste vegtable you only tast the cheese with the texture of mashed potatoes.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
