I handled the stress of my life including my special needs child with eating. Now what?? Feeling very raw will accept any help.

I visit the forums, watch Youtube videos, read or workout. My interest in food is very low compared to how I used to be before the sleeve. Even if I think I want something, I usually just have a bite or two and I'm through with it. I try to keep trigger foods out of the house to keep myself from being tempted if I were to get really stressed. A support group would be very helpful for you if that is possible. Good luck. You can do this!

I agree that you could use a support group to deal with your stressful situation with your son. I can't imagine how hard that must be!

We can be your support group if you decide on weight loss surgery, but it sounds like you might be helped by some counseling for your dependence on food. You really might find help if you seek out a professional's help or a support group for that also.

I wish you the best and hope that things turn around for you soon!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
