I really need to be a part of a local support group, do :help:any of you live in or around Louisville, KY. I actually live in Shepherdsvlle. jan.barnett 0 Posted June 21, 2006 Hi Great Dane, I am glad there is at least one person from my neck of the woods. I am doing ok right now, but sometimes I struggle. Are you on liquids or soft food? Altoonasoup 0 Posted June 22, 2006 Hi Jan, I'm in Louisville Ky. I haven't been banded yet. I went to a seminar on Monday night. Then I talked to my doctor today. I plan to send in my paperwork tommorrow, and then I have to wait for approval from my insurance. Are you new to the area? There are two hospitals here that do the surgery, and they have support groups. You could contact Norton's Hospital or St. Mary and Elizabeths Hospital (aka Caritas) Ask for their bariatric surgery support groups. Norton's also performs Gastric Bypass, but Caritas only does Lap banding. I have found a lot of support from the YMCA. I've met many members that are banded, and that helps a lot.
