Right now sitting in the breakroom, AKA the Junk food Palace has a huge bag of Tortilla chips and Salsa - and Caramel D'Lights Girl Scout Cookies. Both of these are my FAVORITES!!! My mouth watered... I looked at them and imagined the salty and sweet taste in my mouth.

Then I washed my salad bowl I had for lunch, and turned my back and walked right out the door. Oh I'm such a good good girl. Hey, I gotta pat myself on the back once in a while for a job well done.

ETA: It's my Mother Nature time too... so this is extremely significant for me. Yay!!!

VICTORY!!!

That is all. :)

Victory is yours! Way to go... just walk away from all the crappy junk food! Nice thing is our company has replaced most of the junk foods with healthy options and have lots lower prices on the healthy food and Water ($0.25) than the junk and pop $1.25).

Keep up the good work - you inspire us all!

Awww thanks ladies!! :-) I felt so good about that. Believe me... I'm no way perfect - I've indulged here and there but I'm trying to do much better. I wanted to give in!!! But... I just had to walk away. That is a good idea putting healthy choices out there. Some people do sometimes. But usually theres Cookies, candy, fudge, brownies, chips, crackers - just about everything I should NOT be eating. This isn't just Holidays either... I've been working in this unit for almost four years now - and it's been like this for four out of those four years... LOL :-)

I'm not going to NOT eat this stuff forever of course but I just want to stay strong until I hit goal. By then I hope to not want this stuff anymore. (Yeah right!)

Hugs!! I know we can do this!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
